Kamloops Drum Connection will be hosting a booth at this family day affair at the TCC on McGill. Come and drum!

Enjoy a day off on February 13h, 2017 as we celebrate Family Day, which will commence the 2nd Monday of February every year.  This holiday celebrates the importance of families and family life to people and their communities.  Take part in activities aimed at the whole family! A family friendly drug & alcohol free dance party.
Children must be accompanied by an adult.
The fabulous CRISCO will be our live DJ. Just dancing.

The Okanagan Flow Festival May 13 – 15th, 2016

Flow Arts is a general term used to describe the intersection of a variety of movement-based disciplines including dance, juggling, fire-spinning, and object manipulation. The broad category Flow Arts includes a variety of pursuits that harmonize skill-based techniques with creative expression to achieve a state of present-moment awareness known as Flow.

Common forms of Flow Arts include Poi & Staff spinning, hula hoop (or “hooping”), juggling, sphere manipulation (or “contact juggling”), and fan dance. New props and expressions are emerging all the time as flow artists cross pollinate with martial arts, yoga, circus, belly dance, and beyond.

The Okanagan Flow Festival is an all inclusive three day, two night flow arts retreat near Kelowna BC. Your pass includes access to over 40 flow arts workshops, 2 nights of performances, 2 mights of comfy accommodations and 6 delicious meals and snacks. Workshops start on Friday afternoon, and run all day Saturday and Sunday. The workshops are focused on prop manipulation, performance and safety. On Friday night of the festival you can attend the Gala Showcase featuring performances by your instructors. Saturday night is the Renegade Show, which is open to everyone. After the Friday and Saturday night performances are the open gym and fire jams.

The OkFlowFest will be held at the beautiful Green Bay Bible Camp on the shore of Lake Okanagan. The venue has plenty of parking, and is also accessible by transit. There is a variety of indoor and outdoor spaces for workshops, jam session, games, or lounging with friends. Meals include dinner and snacks Friday; breakfast, lunch, dinner and snacks Saturday; as well as breakfast and lunch on Sunday.

The schedule will feature nearly 40 workshops running 3 at a time at different locations. The full schedule will be announced before the event. Each time slot will have a variety of workshops on Poi, Hoop, Staff, Juggling, Rope Dart, and many other props. Classes will range in difficulty from beginner to advanced. Simply choose which classes you wish to attend, and make your way there. You choose what interests you, and you decide how many classes you wish to attend.
