Bottle Donations=Fundraising!

CONTRIBUTIONS to Kamloops Drum Connection – Djembe Django community music can be made by donating bags of refundable to the “Kamloops Drum Connection” under Raven Ritcey . The location is General Grants Bottle Depot on Fortune Dr.on the N.Shore. 611 Fortune Dr.   250-376-9600

Please bring your bags to the Bottle Depot and put them on a cart to be labelled “Kamloops Drum Connection” Raven Ritcey.  The staff then kindly counts the bottles and places the cash due to the account on the computer receipt.  Future funds are being raised to purchase instruments for drum group use and youth music.

DRUM CIRCLES 2013

DRUM CIRCLES: UJAMMA – Community Drum Circles – come and join us at the new Let’s Move Studio, #200-1201 Summit Drive, Scotia Bank Building Upstairs – Corner of Summit and Columbia at the corner of Sahali Mall. The entrance is under the awning on the Summit Dr. side.

Lessons and UJAMMA Circle Times are 1:00 – 3:00 pm

For the lesson in the first hour and the circle time in the second hour, the fee is $15.

For the circle time only in the second hour from 2-3, the fee is $5.

If you need to rent a drum – you want to make sure one is brought just for you. You’ll need to register ahead of time with Raven at djembedjango@hotmail.com. With registration, drum rentals are by donation.

Children must be with their parents.

Karamba Diabate is performing and teaching in the area!

Karamba’s Schedule for Drum Events in the Okanagan and region.

Karamba has recorded and performed with Mick Jagger, Stevie Wonder, James Brown, Alpha Yaya Diallo, Fatale et le Ballet Bagata, Les Ballet African de Guinea, Fils Rais and Famoro Kuyate’s Kike.  He was commissioned to play for President Bill Clinton during his time in office.  He has released several independent CDs and also made two very highly acclaimed instructional drumming videos called “Journey Into Rhythm:  The Rhythms of Guinea” Volumes One and Two (Third Ear Productions).  Karamba has taken many groups of Americans and Canadians over to Guinea on musical tours of the country.  www.angelfire.com/music5karamba5/
